Tier Chart
Tiers are similar to the “Level” of your character. This doesn't mean you can't beat someone of higher tier, just that higher tier will be stronger than you in some way, shape, or form. Tier rising is all about challenges against special characters of that tier system. If you win you get one tier up. In order to tier up, you need to get into a certain number of battle threads before each challenge, and provide those threads, they can not be used for two different tier ups. There will be one character designated for challenge per tier, they will be a bit stronger than the tier they play on, they are the only non-playable race and will be used by either an admin, moderator, or npc puppeteer in a battle.
-Fighting higher tiered characters with a lower tiered character is an uphill struggle. While a 0-1 may be able to defeat a 1-3, but it would be a struggle. Keep in mind the larger the tier difference the harder it is to defeat the opponent. (A 5 would mop the floor with 0-3's for breakfast then chow down on some 0-1's for dessert.)
Tier Stages
Starting Tiers(ST)-Starting tiers are one of the tiers you will get for your app no matter how good, this rule can be overlooked at times depending on the situation of the forum, and if the app truly blows our mind.
Leader Tiers(LT)-This is the most common strong tier. Your lucky to live this long.
Normal Tiers(NT)-Normal Tiers are just everything in between.
Master Tier(MT)-Master tier is the best you can possibly get.
Tiers
ST- 2 battle threads before challenge0-1 = This is one of the lowest tiers to start with, you are pretty much below average human. Even starter Leorio could physically pummel you.
0-2 = This is pretty much the average human.
0-3 = Pretty above average at the start, Leorio would fit this category in the beginning.
NT-3 battle threads before challenge1-1 = This is the true ideal tier to start your Hunter exam life. The majority of the NPCs will be at this level.
1-2 = This is around Gon's starting Tier, there will be some NPCs at this tier.
1-3 = This is closer to Killua or the Ninja in the exams, against you may see a few NPCs at this level.
NT-4 battle threads before challenge 2-1 = Most likely the exams will be a breeze at this level, many are already novice hunters.
2-2 = This is the tier required to be an examiner. Close to a pro hunter level.
2-3 = This is around the level of most floor 200+ in the heavens tower. Wouldn't be strange for one to become a floor master.
NT-5 battle threads before challenge3-1 = Pretty much a pro hunter at this point, easy to throw your weight around.
3-2 = This level is closer to many of the squad leader chimera ants
3-3 = Knuckles and Shoot would be this tier.
LT-6 battle threads before challenge4-1 = Master hunter status at this point, name pretty well known depending on what you did with your career. Phantom Troupe are around this level.
4-2 = This level is close to Kite and other hunters who are masters over their own style
4-3 = Required level to be the lead of the Hunter Association
MT-10 battle threads before challenge5 = This is the strongest possible tier achievable.
(Note; Tiers may be changed to be later. a 4-1 might not be as strong as it was originally if the level cap is required to be raised)
